The Three-Disc Magnetic Separator is a high-intensity, high-gradient dry magnetic separation system designed for the selective recovery of weakly magnetic and rare metallic minerals.

Engineered for precision, the system integrates three independently controlled magnetic discs, enabling staged separation through adjustable magnetic field intensity, disc spacing, and belt speed.

Applications of Three-Disc Magnetic Separators

Concentration and Upgrading of Metallic Minerals:Dry concentration of weakly magnetic and rare metallic minerals such as ilmenite, garnet, monazite, wolframite–manganese ore, columbite, and tantalite.

Separation of Magnetic and Non-Magnetic Materials:Separation of magnetic metals from non-magnetic ones and removal of weakly magnetic particles from non-metallic ores.

Purification of industrial and non-metallic materials, including iron removal from quartz for glass and optical applications, separation of iron oxides from feldspar to improve whiteness for ceramics and glass production, and purification of abrasives such as garnet through removal of magnetic contaminants.

Separation of heavy mineral concentrates, including garnet and monazite; upgrading and recovery of ilmenite from cassiterite and mixed concentrates; effective separation of wolframite, scheelite, manganese ore, and cassiterite; as well as purification of columbite–tantalite concentrates.

The three-disc magnetic separator works by feeding material evenly onto a non-magnetic conveyor belt, where it passes through three independently adjustable magnetic zones with progressively increasing field intensity. As particles move through the system, they are subjected to both magnetic force and gravity, causing minerals with different magnetic susceptibilities to be separated step by step into strong magnetic, medium magnetic, weak magnetic, and non-magnetic fractions. With magnetic field intensity adjustable up to 20,000 Gauss, the machine enables precise dry separation without the need for water or chemical reagents, making it especially suitable for the upgrading of weakly magnetic and rare metal minerals
Model selection mainly depends on feed size, mineral composition (magnetic susceptibility), and required capacity (tph).
This equipment is typically used for fine and well-classified materials, generally in the range of 0.02–2 mm. Oversized or poorly graded material will reduce separation efficiency, so pre-screening and proper classification are strongly recommended before feeding.
